I'm a Major Blog Slacker!

So I'm sorry I've really been slacking in the blog posting department. Not that anyone reads this anyway. But I'll just give you a quick run down of my life since I last wrote.

1. Got laid off in December (SCARY, SCARY, TIME)
2. Got a job in January (Which made me realize that the other place I was working was screwing me over in the Salary Department)
3. Lost a Grandpa McCleary in January
4. We're right in the middle of Closing on a house! Yay for big Townhouses and not living in a 1 bedroom apartment.
5. Opened a show at Hale Centre Theatre: "Phantom" not the version your thinking of but AWESOME!
6. Lost Grandma Tink in February.
7. Auditioned for "Treasure Island" at Hale Centre Theatre in March. Still waiting to see if I made it. Keep your fingers crossed.

We've decided that no more grandparents can die this year. It's too hard!!!! But over all 2009 has been a roller coaster ride for us. But we're grateful for the blessings in our lives, and the people closest to us. Parents, siblings, friends, and even people we just met. But we're looking forward to 2009 and say BRING IT ON!!!!!

So yeah there you go, the two people who read this. Now you know what's going on in my life!!!

Hugs and Kisses

Favorite Hockey Teams

For the fear of being called a fair-weather fan, I wanted to make my favorite hockey teams known! In order of importance!

1. Detroit Red Wings - Started with an admiration for Steve Yzerman, then snow balled from there.
2. Chicago Blackhawks - It was originally because I liked they're logo. I was 10, and didn't know too much about hockey at the time!
3. Dallas Stars - Mike Modano is one of my all-time favorite hockey players.
4. Pheonix Coyotes - They're just a team, thats relatively close to home, that I want to see succeed.
5. Philedelphia Flyers or San Jose Sharks - I can't decide, but have always rooted for these teams

So their you have it! My top five! Sorry Matt, no Avs. I still root for them, unless they're playing one of the above mentioned teams. They're just not in my top five, maybe my top ten!

My Take on the Election!

Yesterdays election have mixed feelings for me. I am so happy for our nation, and the advances we have made from the civil rights movement of the 1960's. It was a historic election, that some people never thought would come. I am glad that I was able to witness history. I am proud of our nation, and the ability to rally for the love of a nation, and the hope that the government process with improve. There is an intense feeling of joy, and satisfaction for how far we have come.

Where I am dissapointed is some of Barack Obama policies. His universal welfare plan/socialistic ideals, are an area I don't believe in. I think you should earn everything you get, and not get hand outs from the government. I believe his Universal Health care plan will continue to bankrupt Americans. I am also worried about his attitude to appointing Supreme Court Judges. He has said he want to appoint judges who judge according to their conscience. This is WRONG, you have to appoint judges who judge according the THE CONSTITUTION!!!! I am worried about his stance on the second amendment. If the second amendment goes, what amendment is next? I think his tax plan will force companies to move more jobs out of the United States to escape his taxes. If they don't move, I'm worried the cost of the new taxes will be pushed back on the consumer. He has also said he will slow the development of new weapons systems to save money for our military, which effects my friends!

I believe his election has been a case of symbolism over substance. His history in the Senate has not been long enough to know where he stands on many topics. We do not know too much about who he is and what he has stood for in the past. Many topics have been left up to the wind, and questions left un-answered. Most people who I've talked to who wanted to vote for him voted for "Change", whether they knew what that change was or not. Yes we need change, but that is an idea. Which is why I say "symbolism over substance". Where his election has been a major symbol of hope, it leave many topics up in the air.

In some areas I agree with Obama, is the processes in Washington needs changes. Major changes need to happen for the government to be an effect representative of the American people. It is apparent how much Barack Obama loves this country and the people in it. Of this fact, there is no doubt. I believe that whatever he does do, it is him trying to make our country better. Where I may not agree with his tactics, this does not affect his overall motives behind what he accomplishes.

I am trying to be optimistic about the next four years in the United State, but have many concerns. In the end, he will be our commander-in-chief. Unlike the population with the current administration, I hope everyone can rally behind him and support him through the good times as well as the bad. I will not be one of the idiots with the bumper sticker that says "Don't blame me, I voted for the other guy". I will be supportive when i agree and crucial when I disagree. But it will not change the respect he deserves and has rightly earned. God Bless the United States of America, and the leaders of the nation. I hope that with Gods guidance, Barack Obama will take this nation into prosperity. I will be rooting for him. I hope everyone in the United States is rooting for Barack Obama to succeed.

Hockey n' Me!

I'm going to take a shot at writing about sports, as well as just whatever is on my mind. As some of you know my favorite National Hockey League team,is the Detroit Red wings. No I'm not from Detroit, nor do I have any family from the region. Then why do I choose the Detroit Red wings as my favorite Hockey team?

It all started a couple of years ago, when I saw a highlight real of a player named Steve Yzerman. He has held the team record as longest serving team captain. From 1986 to 2006, Steve led the Red Wings to 3 Stanley Cup Championships. He was an amazing player, and instantly caught my attention. Since I didn't really have a favorite Hockey team, I just rooted for Steve. Which naturally led to a love for the team, and my highly coveted Steve Yzerman T-Shirt!

It is important to recognize that, this was before I found out that they were actually a good team, and had won many Stanley Cup Champions. Besides, one of my best friends hates the team. So why not?

So, this is going to lead to me writing about Hockey. The more and more I watch and learn about Hockey, the more I love it. I find myself, getting angry when the Wings lose, and giddy when they win. For example, last night the Red Wings edged a victory over the Los Angeles Kings in a shootout. So it was an exciting game. I wasn't feeling too well, but even being sick can't dampen my spirits with a game like that.

Hockey has become an escape from a world full of economic uncertainty, a dragging Presidential Election, wars being fought throughout the world, work, school, and just stress in general. It's nice to think that Men from the United States, Canada, Sweden, Finland, and Czechoslovakia, can get past the politics and just play as a team. Not that many people will read this, but if you do, I hope you enjoy it. I hope that my love of Hockey will convert you from the rest of the boring sports.

Great Friends

I am in no way an easy person to get a long with. I know that I can be annoying, obnoxious, aggravating, infuriating, and every other synonym for words like it. This fact compounded with the way my brain works makes for a great concoction of "special". I have done things in my life, that sometimes, haven't been the best for the people around me. The best thing about it, is that there are people who have stuck around me. It's great to have friends that will always stay by your side.

So to my friends, I give you a very, very, loud shout out! It's always been nice to have friends who will listen and give feed back about every little thing that you talk about. I'm so greatful for everyone who has the ability to put up with me. :)
